Resident Evil Season 1 attempts to reimagine the iconic video game franchise with a new timeline, split between two narratives: one set in 2022, following teenage sisters Jade and Billie Wesker as they uncover dark secrets behind the Umbrella Corporation; and the other in a post-apocalyptic 2036, where Jade struggles to survive in a zombie-infested world.

While the show had potential, it received mixed-to-negative reviews for several reasons:

• The dual timelines felt uneven and sometimes disconnected.

• Fans of the game were disappointed by how loosely it followed the source material.

• The tone often shifted awkwardly between teen drama and horror action.

• Lance Reddick’s performance as Albert Wesker was a highlight, but even his strong presence couldn’t save the weak writing and uneven pacing.
